Butler is one of the more under-recruited quarterbacks in the area and I don’t understand why. His arm strength is very good and his ability to extend plays with his legs makes him an intriguing prospect. He consistently hits receivers in stride and does a good job keeping his eyes on the secondary when under pressure.

Butler is one of the top passers in this 2025 class across California, and checks into our rankings in the most recent update. Although not currently holding any offers yet, he is a no brainer next level player and one of the more dynamic athletes across the region heading into this season. He has a big downfield arm and a snappy quick release and can push the ball vertically while putting good air under it and throws a tight spiral. He is a very accurate passer that can fit the ball into tight windows while also showing he is explosive in the run game with a good initial burst and open field speed as well to pull away from defensive backs in the clear. He has been severely under-recruited so far and is one of the biggest sleepers at the QB position across the state.
