Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Dippel has been one of the more prolific passers across the west region this year and had another impressive showing in the state title game against Pacifica. He is a very accurate passer with a strong pocket presence, under-rated mobility and keeps his eyes downfield while not afraid to air it out and let his receivers make a play on the ball. He does a fantastic job managing the game, spreading the ball around to multiple weapons and taking what is given with the coverage. Very consistent the entire afternoon in the 1-A state finals, he passed for 371 yards and 2 scores while adding another score on the ground and will be the top returning passer in the central section heading into the 2026 season.

Dippel has been a consistent top player in the section week in and week out this season and has lit up the stat sheet this post season as well. He has a live arm, proper timing downfield and takes what is given while not afraid to fit the ball into tight windows and let it fly vertical with good velocity and air under the ball. He erupted against an elite Clovis defense this week and threw for 340+ yards and a incredible 7 touchdowns on the night. Central-East will most likely compete in a 1-A or 1-AA division at the state level and should be competing for another title in southern California in the coming weeks.

Dippel is doing an excellent job operating this high powered Grizzlies offense, and has been on a tear so far in his junior season for Central-East. He is a strong armed kid that can zip it into tight windows and get good air under his throws over the top while showing poise and patience in the pocket. Also able to buy time with his legs and do damage on the ground, he is a complete passer that will be the top returning signal caller across the central valley next year. He exploded in their quarter-final game on Friday night throwing for nearly 400 yards and 6 touchdowns bringing his season total to an absurd 3,700+ yards and 45 touchdowns through the air, with another 400+ yards rushing with 2 scores.

One of the top signal callers across the central valley, Dippel had a stellar performance against a tough Grant Union team on Friday night and despite the loss put on a show in Sacramento. He threw for nearly 300 yards and 2 scores in a 42-26 loss to the SJS power. He is well on his way to picking up where he left off last season and is one of the top signal callers in the central valley.

Dippel led the 2027 class in passing with 3,515 yards and 41 touchdowns last season. His clean pocket mechanics and sharp footwork keep him efficient on timing routes while his ability to escape pressure and extend plays adds a dangerous second layer to his game. He’s comfortable operating within structure but thrives when improvising flashing creativity, awareness, and arm talent. His production, poise, and mobility make him one of the most promising young QB’s in the state.

Dippel seems to have picked up right where he left off last season. The now Junior has plenty of starting experience under his belt and seems comfortable commanding this elite and explosive Central-East offense. Checking into our rankings as a top 20 player at his position, he should have another stellar year for the Bengals and they should find themselves playing late into November and possibly early December. In week 1 he passed for 291 and 3 scores in a convincing 41-12 win over a loaded Inglewood squad.

Dippel is one of the top young passers in the central valley and is coming off a state championship appearance in only his sophomore season for Central. He is a very elusive and explosive runner that is still growing and developing but has tons of growth potential over the next two years. He has a strong arm especially for his size and can fit the ball into small windows with good zip and accuracy while throwing his receivers open over the top and able to stretch the field with his deep throws. He flashes good throw anticipation and feet in the pocket while able to buy time under pressure/keeping his eyes downfield and not making poor decisions. Heading into his Junior season he will be one of the top passers in the Central Valley and will have no shortage of elite speed and weapons on a loaded Central team returning in 2025.
