Overton Jr. and the Hayfield Hawks have wasted no time making it known that his Uncle once again has the best team in Class 6. The Hawks have been on cruise control so far to start their year and it continued against Chantilly. In the first half alone the Virginia Tech commit had 3 rushing touchdown and well over 100 yards on the ground. So far nobody has been able to figure out how to slow down Coach Overton’s offense will that change anytime soon?

Overton Jr. looked in mid-season form last Friday night against Dunbar, I am pretty confident he will have 20 plus carries tomorrow night. The Virginia Tech commit has been a workhorse on both offense and defense for the past few seasons. Regardless if it has been at Freedom or now Hayfield, the past two years he has a case for not being named the best player in the state.
He looked motivated and hungry dodging Dunbar defenders for a couple of touchdowns last week. I would expect him to provide the crowd with some early fireworks.
