The playmaking inside linebacker made an eye-opening 99 tackles last season with five sacks, three forced fumbles, one INT and six TFLs. He makes a major impact in multiple ways and will be tough to stop next fall as a senior.

Deal is an instinctual, reactionary defender who is always around the ball and can twitch his way around contact and to the ball. He is a stout, strong player and uses his natural leverage to get underneath ball carriers and work from the ground up. He plays exactly the way he needs to play to compensate for his size.

He also brings a level of versatility as he’s an efficient pass-rusher who constantly finds his way into the backfield. He’s sacked the quarterback five times and has caused two fumbles this season. He’s one of the more underrated linebackers in the area who deserves recognition for his strong play.
