Pipkins burst onto the scene as one of Andrews’ most important players as a freshman. He picked off two passes as a safety, showing the ability to come down and play the run, as well. He flashed as a receiver down the stretch, catching seven passes in his last three games.

Primarily a defensive back, Pipkins is moonlighting as a receiver, with 12 catches and a touchdown on the season. Where he’s most impactful is as a single-high safety, where his range and length allow him to be a menace in the passing game. He has the size and willingness to come down in run defense, as well.

Already a long, rangy safety, Pipkins is making the most of his opportunities on a young, talented Andrews defense. The Red Raiders are playing multiple freshmen and still allowing just 11 points a game. Pipkins is already versatile, able to creep into the box as a hybrid linebacker, or play as a deep centerfielder.
