About James

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I feel I am a versatile, high-intensity athlete with an above average motor. My coaches know me for great vision, strength-to-size ratio, and never quit work ethic, combined with extreme coachability to adapt to any role.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a quiet person in general, that likes to do things in small groups of friends that are low key without drama or causing problems. Whether I am on the field, mat, or class, I give 110% and don't take reps off, miss assignments, or waste time. I want to be the best I can be both in the classroom and sports.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In the coming year I plan to join the student council, and volunteer more in my community. I wasn't sure how my first year of high-school was going to be so I took this year to really figure how I wanted to shape my last three years before graduation.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel that while I am a quiet person, I lead by example through my work ethic and always encouraging and building my teammates up.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I worked scout team for the Varsity squad as a Freshman and traveled but wasn't playing in games. This motivated me to put in the work needed to get an opportunity to start on the Kickoff team and made the most of that opportunity which helped me eventually take on a starting position on Defense with 5 games left in the season.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go D1 and that is my goal. I am also aware this is the majority of HS athletes. I will work to achieve that goal no matter what it takes. I havent thought much about which colleges I want to attend. In the coming years that vision will come more into focus as I grow and mature.
