Payne is a versatile receiver with inside-out flexibility. He creates separation with his route tempo and he knows how to find the soft spots in zone. Payne has shown reliable hands and is a problem after the catch, forcing multiple defenders to try and take him down. His is a weapon used in many ways especially in the redzone plus where he can take the snap as a wildcat QB and run right in-between the tackles. Payne’s ability to generate positive plays played a major role in the Gators success last season. He is a physical player who makes winning plays and will be a name to follow for the spring.
