Expert Analysis
Sam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
A versatile LB with fantastic range who could be a hybrid type player. He’s good near the line, but very good off the ball and in coverage. Good instincts and comes downhill to play the run properly filling lanes. He doesn’t try to be the hero and was fairly consistent for Hammond Morton. As a 3-year starter, he put up 269 career solo tackles, 14 TFLs, 4 sacks, 4 interceptions, and was in on 10 different fumbles.

Arnold was solid last year, but he took another step this season and leveled up across the board. He jumped from 84 tackles as a sophomore to 118 as a junior, and you can tell the work in the offseason paid off. He put on weight, and it showed up in the trenches, helping him play even more physical. He’s at his best near the line of scrimmage, where he can shoot gaps and mix it up. I love how he plays downhill and isn’t afraid to set the tone.

Arnold has put together two incredible seasons back-to-back and has proven to be one of the better linebackers in the North. He’s a tackling machine, with over 200 solo tackles over the past two years. He’s aggressive, willing to take calculated chances, plays with a sense of urgency, and has a good frame behind him. He can play the run and drop back into coverage. Simple things, sure, but in the end, they go a long way, and I feel like Arnold is a stud.
