I tend to gravitate towards “do-it-all” guys from smaller schools, and in that regard, Smith checks a lot of boxes. He’s electric in the open field, and when healthy last season, averaged over 120 scrimmage yards per game. If he can stay healthy as a junior, R-S Central has some pieces around him to have a potent 4A offense.

Occasionally when I write watchlist pieces, I’ll realize we’ve missed a guy. Smith was a key piece of R-S Central’s offense last year, mostly as a rusher. He had 600 rushing yards in seven games, adding nearly 300 receiving yards on 18 catches. He’s shifty, and did a lot of his damage with the ball in his hands, either after the catch or on handoffs.
