About Jake

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Downhill attacking and hard-hitting linebacker with great instincts. Very coachable to learn and develop his skill set. Strong academic background and high football IQ allows him to call the defense for his teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Strong academic background and high football IQ. He is very coachable, and eager to improve his skills on and off the field. Lead by example with toughness which makes his team members around him better. Staying humble and positive in any situation. Focussed on the next play.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Invovled with 4H and FFA where his family shows cattle through out the year. He has received several awards as Grand Champion and Reserve Champion with my caves. He is student angler for his high school bass fising club. His team has won 2 JR and 1 HS fishing team championships. They have also qualified for 2 HS National Championships & he has won 3 Angler of the Year titles in the past 4 yrs.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

To be successful Ihave been taught to put in the work and surround myself with positive people. Working with my caves has taught me responsibility, work ethic, & caring for someone bigger than yourself. Fishing has taught me to stay focus, calm under pressure, problem solve on the fly & being positive on every cast. I am active in my church which teaches me humility, peace & others focussed.

What type of college are you looking for?

One that is a good fit for my skill set and providing a college education. My goal is to play at D1, but I want to be good team member and player at whatever level I can reach.

Wailes earned first-team all-district honors and set the stage for impacting the action even more this season. During his 10th-grade highlight video, we witness how Wailes gets the job done. Wailes is a force at middle linebacker, operating with physicality. The offensive players feel his presence during the collisions. Wailes plays fast, getting pre-snaps reads that put him in position to pounce. He then flies to the football when he sees a lane for a tackle. His tempo makes it tough to keep him blocked.
