A shifty and reliable receiver with the ability to play on the inside and make catches in traffic. 2 years on Varsity at the 6A level, putting up 122 receptions, 2196 receiving yards, and 30 TDs in 23 games. He strikes me as a guy who is still way under the radar and will be a steal on Signing Day.

Vanpelt came into the year showing potential from last year and needed to build on what he showed from his junior year. Not only did he come out and back it up, but he added another layer to what he can do. He’s shifty and can create separation with ease. He’s good in the slot and always finds the open zones. He knows how to work with his QB when things break down and tries giving him a target. Through the final 2 years of his HS career, he’s put up 105 receptions for 1877 yards and 29 TDs. He’s been highly productive while consistently getting better, which is all you can ask for.

Vanpelt did his part on Friday as he lit up the scoreboard. The junior wideout has developed quite a bit over the past few years and is playing his best ball yet. He brought in 9 catches for 185 yards and a hat-trick of touchdowns on Friday. He’s a shifty wideout who does a good job finding the soft spot, getting behind the defense, and finding ways to get open. I like Vanpelt and think he’s a hidden gem in the slot.
