I have said it for quite awhile, this is one of the best playmakers nobody is talking about. He has good size, legitimate track speed and tremendous ball skills. He returned kicks for Clare, and used his great vision and blazing speed to absolutely fly through gaps and turn them into scores. When placed on the outside, he runs great routes, has great change of direction and made some defensive backs look silly. I firmly believe he could develop into a true WR1 at any D3, and could even become a top receiver at the D2 level eventually. Coaches need to do their homework on this dude!

I have talked about Halicek for a couple of years now, and he has largely proven me right. I think this season will cap off what has been a tremendous career at Clare. Jacob Halicek is a lanky and quick athlete with real track speed and good fundamentals. I love his route running and his ability to leverage his size and athleticism to his advantage. He presents a real mismatch against some of the defensive backs in the Jack Pine and tends to exploit those matchups. He has been putting in the work and his potential will be realized this fall!

Caught 12 touchdowns and had 660 total yards last season. Would expect his role to grow as a senior. Solid receiver prospect with good height and top-end after the catch. Not a burner but has above-average breakaway juice to run away from defenders if he finds a crease. Name to know.

Clare has some underrated dudes, and Jacob will have a chance to showcase his skills this offseason.
Jacob, like a few other Clare receivers over the years, is a good route runner, and a great player in space. He runs a good out route, and has good enough hands to consistently make contested catches in the redzone. Generally, Jacob is a good player after the catch- he does a great job at running through arm tackles and finding open space.
This offseason, he’ll have to continue to prove himself athletically, and his routes need to be more consistent. Probably a D3 receiver.

Jacob is a known commodity on our site, as he has shown a ton of potential. His mid-season highlights are very fun to watch. Jacob has a knack for getting open, running precise routes and making quick cuts. After the catch, he can really hurt you with some speed and agility in the open space. I will definitely be watching for him to grab some offers soon, as I think he will definitely be a Saturday guy.
