The 2025 season has revealed a “hidden gem” in the Massachusetts independent school ranks. This individual is quickly making a case for top-tier status in our Class of 2027 rankings.
Scout’s Analysis: Spear is playing at a high level. He shows a jump in development. This progress puts him in the same conversation as the region’s premier signal-callers. His 2025 film is explosive; he displays excellent pocket awareness and surgical footwork. He releases the ball quickly. He spins it with impressive velocity. His accuracy is pinpoint, fitting throws into tight windows across the field. Spear is a high-IQ quarterback who expertly navigates his progressions and uses his eyes to manipulate defenders.
Areas for Growth: At 6’0″, his physical measurables could be the only question mark for some scouts. Verifying his top-end speed and weight will be critical for high-level FCS/D1 interest. While he escapes the pocket effectively, continuing to build explosive power in his lower half will enhance his dual-threat capability.
Recruiting Outlook: Spear is a “must-move-up” candidate for new rankings in class of 2027. If his testing numbers verify, he is a Solid talent. College coaches should get on him now before his recruitment takes off this summer.

Jack is one of the younger players, but he still has some skill. He has a quick release and enough arm to drive the ball downfield. He is accurate with the ball and can make tough throws if needed. His head coach says he is an athletic dual-style quarterback who can throw deep balls and likes to attack defenses. Athletic and smart. Plays with great poise. Put up some good numbers for Swampscott last season and will have plenty of weapons on the team for the 2024 season at Pingee.

Film Highlight Review: Jack had a strong Sophomore campaign at QB. He shows the ability to throw with success both in the pocket and on the run. Does a good job of squaring his shoulders to deliver accurate down the field throws. He shows good timing and velocity on many of his passes. Looks to be a good decision maker when reading coverage.
Projection: His physical measurables (height and weight) align him as a Division 2-Division 3 prospect
