One of the top 2028 signal callers across the state, Heaslet is having a tremendous sophomore season campaign for St. Joseph and is a true dual-threat guy that can do tons of damage with his arm and legs. He has tight mechanics/throwing motion and can get the ball out quick while showing he can throw on the run and buy time with his legs with downfield speed and a good initial burst and some wiggle in the open field as well. Heaslet also shows he can deliver on schedule throws to a variety of targets with throw anticipation and accuracy in tight windows over the top or on out-breaking routes. In week 7, he had another big showing throwing for over 260 yards and 3 scores and has the Knights sitting at 6-1 with only suffering a opening week loss to Tulare Union. Heaslet is one of the top passers in the state of California in the 2028 class and is coming off a great freshman campaign and has looked to have started where he left off in 2024. The dynamic passer is elite with the ball in his hands, is a true playmaker with tight mechanics and is a threat running and passing/evading pressure. He has multiple FBS offers already in hand and has been putting up some big time numbers in his sophomore campaign. On Friday night he threw for just under 200 yards and 3 scores in a nice win over Centennial.

He is a very mobile passer that can efficiently navigate the pocket, throw on the run and has a already very strong arm and is only a freshman. He shows he can buy time with his feet while keeping his eyes downfield, throw into tight windows with good zip on the ball and touch over the top on third level throws. Heaslet also displays the ability to throw from various angles and off-platform with accuracy and can lead his receivers open away from defenders. He is a technically sound passer with plus mechanics especially for his age and will only continue to grow and develop over the next three seasons. Heaslet is an advanced dual-threat QB for a freshman. Currently at 5’10” 170 lbs. he’s a plus athlete with the speed and elusiveness to escape pressure and extend the play. Quick release allows him to get the ball out on time while limiting pressure impact in the pocket. Love his ability to improvise and create plays when protection breaks down. Shows he can make off-platform throws without sacrificing accuracy or velocity, especially to the boundary and downfield. Skillset and playmaking ability come naturally to the QB position.
