Lyle jumped on my radar over the fall and winter, and I thought he was a fun watch and an obvious candidate to jump from our watchlist to our rankings. Lyle is an energetic, big-play waiting to happen. He is a sudden, smooth, but controlled athlete in the short areas when he creates his own yards and jumps across defenders. He is a form runner with the speed to carry long runs, but he will get physical to end plays if a DB can run him down. I think he’s a D1 RB prospect who could sign below that level, so there’s potential for a huge steal here.

It may have been a tough year for Commerce, but they’ve got a running back returning who could help them improve in 2026. Lyle finished the season strong, rushing for over 175 yards in each of his last two games. He rushed for 184 yards against Banks County before taking off against Providence Christian for 178 yards and two touchdowns. On the year he rushed for 707 yards and six touchdowns. Once of the top sleeper running backs in the Athens area, Lyle is a shifty back who runs with balance. He can break tackles in the second level and is one of the top returning backs in the region for the 2027 class.
