Expert Analysis
Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
At 6’2” 185 lbs. Baldwin is a pure passer with functional athleticism. That athleticism is a compliment to the passing game keeping the offense on schedule primarily through the air but possesses the speed and mobility to extend plays, avoid pressure, and pick up yards when needed. Shows high level accuracy and excellent ball placement ability with a smooth/compact over the top release. Demonstrates he can mix up arm angles and throw from various off balance platforms, great ability to get his hips around and square up throwing on the run to either direction as a lefty. Like his patience and anticipation as a passer allowing routes and throwing lanes to develop without forcing the ball into coverage. Currently holds three offers from Cal, San Jose State, and Boise State but will be a double digit offer prospect before long.

Recent Offers: Cal, SJSU
Notes: Baldwin is quickly rising to be one of the top 2029 signal callers and another quarterback in line at Hughson after McDaniel graduated on to SJSU a couple years back. He has excellent throwing mechanics, a quick release and throw power and is a plus athlete for the position that should wind up at the P4 level and will hold national offers.

Baldwin enters into our initial rankings as a watchlist signal caller but should join in the QB rankings sooner rather than later after coming off a huge freshman campaign for Hughson. He has a quick release, snaps the ball out of his hand and can fit it into tight windows with throw power and anticipation from both the pocket and on the run. He shows he can make off platform throws into tight windows and is not afraid to allow his receivers to make a play on contested balls and does a nice job leading them open downfield and throwing away from defenders to the proper shoulder. An obvious very high IQ kid that processes quickly and can move through his progressions, he plays well beyond his years and has the tight snappy mechanics/arm angles the next level is looking for and should gather his first offer soon.
