In some categories you will see one athlete as our selection. That isn’t the case here. The race to lead the way in the passing categories looks like it will be a tight one, and because of that we had to go with a different selection for leader in passing TDs. Our choice for that category is Wauwatosa West QB1 Hawkin Ullsperger. Hawkin should have the helm to himself the entire season, giving him more chances to go to the air. He also returns his WR2 from last season in Jeremiah Baxter. That familiarity should be clutch for Hawkin and give him a trustworthy option to push the ball to and create a lot of opportunities for scoring. Hawkin worked his way into the QB1 spot for Wauwatosa West’s varsity and didn’t look back. The tape he put out from there has locked him into our QB1 spot in this debut. There is so much to like about where Hawkin is at in his development. The most notable is the natural arm talent. Hawkin isn’t the biggest athlete, yet. However, the ball absolute jumps out of his hand. Especially when he goes deep or realizes he needs to hit a tight window. His natural ability to create velocity with his full body mechanics is special. Those mechanics are so smooth too. His feet are quick, eyes are connected to his feet, and his throwing motion is quick. I’m going to be locked onto Hawkin watching his development. His gifts give him a high ceiling.
