Valencia plays 7v7 with the Kansas Colts. He plans to attend Holcomb High School. He has already been clocked in the 40 at 4.9 seconds. At a smaller school like Holcomb, he could see varsity time this fall as a freshman. I’ve said this until I am blue in the face, but small school prospects benefit the most from the early exposure in our rankings. They often get a chance to show off their skills earlier than, say an incoming freshman in a Class 6A or 5A program.

Hailing from a small town of less than 2,300 people per the 2020 census, Evan Valencia is a Running Back worth keeping an eye on in Southwest Kansas. The Holcomb, Kansas product has good size right now, listing himself at 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds as of November 2024. Can’t confirm the size, but I really like his build and strong lower body. I can’t (and won’t) pretend to be an expert on middle school football in SW Kansas, but I do know that I like what I see on film–regardless of the level of competition. Valencia tallied 20 touchdowns during his eighth-grade season and checks the boxes for me in terms of speed (on tape), above average vision and productivity.
