McCalister performed well at the You Are Athlete camp earlier this offseason and competed at the Stock Up Showcase in January.

The ball comes out of his hand nicely and he has offers from Southern and Sacramento State.

The Valencia product is one of the top passers in the 2029 class across southern California and is a very accurate signal caller that can get the ball out quick and process very well for his age. He has a quick release, can buy time with his legs in the pocket and seems very comfortable both in and out of the pocket under pressure. He has the frame to continue adding weight and already has a strong arm for his age and proper throwing mechanics heading into his second season. On tape, he shows he ca fit the ball into tight windows, throws accurately on the deep ball with touch and velocity and knows when to put touch and zip on the ball with closing defenders. Look for him to have a breakout year in 2026 and be a key ’29 signal caller to watch.

McCalister has already been active on the camp circuit with strong performances at the Elite 11 and the You Are Athlete camp.

He completed 81 percent of his passes for 598 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman and won a high-scoring start against Paraclete.

McCalister has a quick, compact release and has shown clean footwork. He looks comfortable throwing off-platform and has an offer from Sacramento State.

Shows clean, efficient footwork from drop-back to delivery and consistently stands tall in the pocket with good composure. Displays a quick, accelerated release that generates solid velocity, allowing him to drive the football and push it vertically. Comfortable throwing on the run, showing the ability to extend plays and deliver accurately outside the pocket. Like his quick processing ability to see coverage and be decisive with the football. Already holds an offer from Sacramento State, and his overall skill set points to continued upward development.
