Expert Analysis
Mark Johnson | Prep Redzone Scout
This is an intriguing athlete that will be fun to watch over the coming years. The sophomore WR is already 6’3″ 195 lbs, so we will watch and see how he continues to grow and fill out his frame. That will tell us if his home is at WR or TE at the next level. Either way, Evan is a reliable target that QBs can go to with confidence. He uses that big frame to protect the ball during the catch and box out defenders. He is a smooth athlete who can get vertical downfield or win across the middle of the field. Also noteworthy is that the long athlete also impresses on defense as an edge. He flies off the ball, can bend around the edge, and closes quickly and violently. Harbort is becoming one of the more versatile recruits in the Class of 2028.

Evan finished 2025 as Cambridge’s leading receiving threat. The sophomore piled up 22 catches for 473 yards and 3 TDs. He finished with an average of 21.5 yards/reception while his longest catch was only 40 yards. That tells me the kid is extremely consistent at giving his offense those plays of 20+ yards on a weekly basis. The big target fits that possession receiver mold where he is going to find soft spots, use his size and strength to create space, and has that knack for creating ways to get open without just simply being faster than everyone. The sophomore also contributed off the edge on defense too and has the size to also be considered at that position too.

The sophomore WR is coming off a 2nd Team All Conference performance in 2025. Evan is rolling that momentum into the early offseason with his Showcase efforts. The potential of the WR/TE is special. He has a 6’5″ wingspan, and a massive 10.5″ hands. The big athlete crushed the L-Drill too, running 6.69 and 7.06. Being that big and long, yet still having the body control, acceleration, and flexibility to put up those numbers is a rare feat. Evan is on his way to establishing himself as one of the big-bodied athletes to keep an eye on over the next few years.
