I was able to cover Lange a year ago before his senior season, so I was eager to revisit his tape to see how he has evolved. For the second straight year, Lange lit up the stat sheet. In 9 games, he recorded 59 total tackles, 4 TFLs, 1 sack, and a FF. On his tape, he looks to be a stout defender who can work well through blockers to get to the ball carrier. I’d like to see him play a little more downhill and put out some more tape, but his size is intriguing, and he looks like a weight room monster. I’m curious to see where he ends up next fall.

In the 7 games he started during his junior year as an MLB, Lange recorded 32 ttck, 3 TFLs, 1.0 sack, and 1 fumble recovery. He’s got a solid frame for his position and should fit in seamlessly with the other talented returning defensive starters. Lange’s tape reveals him to be a tenacious and stout defender who fights tooth and nail through contact to smoke a ball carrier. He’s exceptionally effective when blitzing and has a handful of tackles on his tape of him hawking down ball carriers from either behind the LOS or near it. Lange is in a great position for a breakout senior year in what I anticipate to be a growing role in a potent Park defense.
