About Enzo
Expert Analysis

Some of the best Christmas gifts are usually small yet expensive ones. Well, Enzo might be small, but the damage he left offensive linemen this season is going to cost a lot of hours in the gym and film study. Enzo didn’t have one, two, three, four, or even five games of double-digit tackles, but he had six. To add the ribbon and bow to the gifts, he only had two of those six games where he didn’t record a Tackle for loss. Verse Littleton High School Mr. Hernandez recorded 11 tackles, and six went for losses; he had 12 tackles against Prospect Ridge, and an incredible 15 tackles, with five going for losses against Denver West. In the next three games against Pinnacle, Platte Valley, and Estes Park, he would total 52 tackles, five for losses, four sacks, and a blocked punt. Enzo would finish the Season with 99 total tackles, 13 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, 2 fumble recoveries and a blocked punt. You talk about being on top of Santa’s nice list!

Enzo is continuing his domination against offensive lines. Even in the loss to Denver West, he showed out. He had 15 total tackles (8 solo, 7 assisted) 5 TFL, and 1 sack. He currently has 15 TFL through 4 games. He used his good acceleration to initiate contact first with the OL, utilizing a powerful bull rush to knock them off their toes. Showed good use of hands, by putting them in the proper place, and moved the OL around with ease. Hernandez continues to impress me, week in and week out. As an undersized defensive lineman, he is eating. He’s only a junior with more room to grow. Keep an eye out of Enzo.

Hernandez had an impressive game against Littleton. The defensive end had 11 total tackles (5 solo, 6 assisted), 6 TFL, 4.0 sacks, and 1 FR. Littleton did not have any answers for Hernandez as he was a game wrecker on the defensive line. Hernandez has good athletic ability due to good speed and acceleration. He has a quick burst of acceleration at the LOS, being able to bend his body around the tackle. He uses a low pad level to out leverage the OL, and uses his good hand placement to move them out of the way. Enzo has a good bull rush to knock the OL off their anchor. Sometimes he was left unblocked, and would get an easy hit on the QB. Against the run, he would come off the block and wrap up the defender. Hernandez is an intriguing player to watch, as he’s only in his junior year putting up these numbers.
