The first thing I notice about this young man is his strength. Then, I see he squats 575 and deadlifts 565, and it makes a lot of sense, lol. Emmanuel is a high-level run stopper in the middle of the Tarboro defense, and that’s a valuable skill, especially in the area where they play in Eastern North Carolina. With his size, I would expect him to get some interest from college football programs toward the end of the season, going into the offseason.

Count DeBerry as a win for the Prep Redzone talent evaluation team. He didn’t have a big role last season, but the senior breakout has been outstanding. His Havelock tape is one of the best single-game performances we’ve ever seen from an interior defender. At times, he’s been unblockable this season, and he’s a big reason why the Vikings continue to hang with the big boys in the non-conference.

We put DeBerry on our All-Breakout Defense, so we were ready for his big season. Still, we’ve been impressed. Tarboro once again loaded its non-conference schedule, and the Vikings have gone toe-to-toe with several bigger schools. That typically means struggles in the trenches, but DeBerry has flat-out dominated. Against 5A Havelock, he had four sacks and the rare big-man interception. His profile might say watchlist, but he won’t be there when it’s time to update rankings.

Deberry is a two-way player who is an ascending offensive line prospect. We may ultimately rank him there, but he also has great potential as a defensive tackle. He moves well, even after adding a bunch of weight, and he’s an intriguing rising senior prospect.
