Wayne has a returning playmaker in 2028 WR/ATH Elias Haffer who can be used in several different ways within the Pioneers’ offense. Haffer saw some time at quarterback as a sophomore while also contributing in other roles, showing the quickness and shiftiness to create when the ball is in his hands. He does a good job finding space and can turn a routine touch into a chunk play with his burst and ability to make defenders miss. That flexibility fits well in Wayne’s Wing-T scheme and gives the Pioneers another athlete they can move around. Haffer’s role should continue to expand as a junior, making him one of the more intriguing players to watch at Wayne.

We got to see Haffer compete at our Exposure Series, where he flashed the athletic traits he showed on his sophomore tape. Playing in Wayne’s Wing-T offense, Haffer finds ways to impact the game in multiple roles and consistently makes the most of his opportunities. He is a quick, shifty athlete who does a nice job creating in space and can turn routine touches into explosive plays. While he may not receive the same attention as some prospects in more pass-heavy offenses, his playmaking ability is evident when you watch him. Haffer is a quality football player with a versatile skill set and is a name more people should know as the 2028 class continues to develop.

2028 ATH Elias Haffer heads into the WV Exposure Series as a newer name on the radar, but there’s plenty of intrigue surrounding his skill set. Wayne’s offense doesn’t always create a ton of opportunities for athletes to showcase themselves in space because of the Wing system, which makes this camp an important chance for Haffer to open things up a little more. Even as a smaller prospect, the dynamic athletic ability is noticeable and gives him flexibility to line up at multiple skill positions. Haffer should get the opportunity to show more of his movement skills, burst, and playmaking ability in drills and 1-on-1s than he normally gets to display on Friday nights. Players with that kind of versatility can turn heads quickly in camp settings.
