Dyson had an impressive showing at the camp, standing out as a defensive back with excellent instincts and athleticism. In coverage drills, he displayed smooth footwork, staying low and balanced while mirroring receivers’ routes. During one-on-one reps, he reacted quickly to changes in direction and used his length and agility to contest passes effectively. In cone and agility drills, Dyson showed quick hips and fluid movement, allowing him to change direction on a dime while maintaining speed and control. His ability to track the ball, stay engaged in coverage.

Washington Jr. possesses great feet, fluid hips, and violent hands at the point of attack, allowing him to excel in both coverage and run support. His ball skills and versatility make him a valuable asset in the secondary, as he can effectively play nickel, safety, or cornerback. With his speed and lockdown ability, Washington has drawn increased attention from college programs. He recently took a visit to Houston and will be on campus at Oklahoma this weekend as his recruitment continues to heat up.

The theme continued with kids I was aware of, but needed to see in a camp/competition setting. The Wide Receiver group at the Texas camp was insane. So, for any Defensive Back to earn a spot on the National Watchlist there, hats off to them.

DyShon is a twitchy athlete, he changes direction smoothly and he has a large reach radius. He has a compact, stout frame and a strong lower half. During the group session versus the offense, he showed good patience in press coverage, he has a stiff punch at engagement, he doesn’t give ground easily and his closing speed enabled him to have several PBUs. As he progressed through the agility session for the defensive backs, his clean footwork and technique were on full display. Washington Jr. moves fluidly and showed good burst when he plants his foot and drives on the football. DyShon is a multi-sport athlete, which includes track and field and basketball. He dropped 32 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists this week on the hardwood. DyShon has a high ceiling and he has the skill set to dominate at the defensive back position.
