Combs is someone I’ve recently come across, and he looks good. He has some big shoes to fill for South, but for year 1, I think it’s safe to say he did the job. Combs completed 64% of his throws for 1960 yards and 21 TDs while helping South win 8 games. I expected South to drop off quite a bit this year with the group of seniors they had graduated in ’24, but Combs stepped up and prevented that drop off.

Combs is a young, big-framed quarterback who is quickly excelling and growing on the field. His ability to see the entire field without an issue helps, but he also knows how to get the ball to where it needs to be and when it needs to be there. Friday was a good example of this because he was on target, found his open reads, and got the ball out quickly. Combs went 22 of 26 for 250 yards and 2 TDs on the night as South got the win.
