Don Spillers III
About Don
Expert Analysis

Each site seems to have Don listed at a different position. Some say DB, some say WR, and some say LB. We have him listed as an “ATH”, and I think that fits the bill.
I watched Don’s latest game against Cass Tech, and I came away impressed with his skills at outside linebacker.
Athletic ability pops. He’s got the explosiveness to play P4 football, and the reaction time to complement it. A good run stopper who consistently takes good, aggressive angles to the ball carrier. Needs to vastly improve block shedding. I know Cass Tech’s OL has multiple P4 guys, but still, it was over for Don once a guy got hands on him.
A solid zone defender. Times where he looked a bit lost, but I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt, especially knowing he’s played safety.
Size is the cherry on top. 6’2″ with great length. Can still fill out his frame. Looks like a Power 4 outside linebacker or safety.

A major new addition to the rankings, being placed just outside the top 10.
Projected as a safety in college, Don’s existing highlights are actually all at wide receiver (X). At receiver, Don has the single trait that separates the good high school receivers from the great: ball skills.
Don can climb the ladder and snatch it. Several highlights show Don Mossing DBs deep downfield. Don has one more trait that is pretty darn rare for WRs: physicality. More specifically, Don can block. There are several highlights where Don lays someone out.
Don’s mix of ball skills, physicality, and athleticism make for a D1 prospect at multiple positions. Confident he can play at the next level as a receiver or safety.
