Expert Analysis
Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Edwards is the biggest defensive riser in the updated 2028 PRZ state rankings moving to #88 overall. He’s a long 6’2β 165 lb. DB that runs well (10.7 100m) and has good technique. Uses his length as an advantage to disrupt receiver’s route lines and play the ball in the air. That extension gives him great radius to play through the hands at the catch point. Operates well in both zone and man schemes showing good assignment awareness and eye discipline in coverage. Plays a good catch technique using his hands and physicality to gain positional leverage. Pulled in seven D1 offers this spring/summer including his most recent from Miami and still has plenty of upside.

Edwards is a speedy guy who runs a 10.7 in the 100 meters and is an excellent athlete who can jump crazy high on 50/50 balls. He excels in man coverage and is a good cover two corner as well. Edwards is physical at the point of attack and often jumps routes or reroutes receivers. Miami and Cal have offered him among others.

Read EvaluationPaul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Edwards is a very long and lengthy prospect that can play either corner or safety and checks into our WL ranks in the most recent update. He is a very good open field tackler that covers ground quickly and has closing speed and good physicality at the POA. He is fluid in coverage, has good ball skills and can trigger fast on the perimeter when breaking to the ball or setting the edge. With plus length, long arms and fluid athleticism, Edwards offers tons of upside at the next level and should be a FBS offer guy sooner rather than later.
