Swift is a stock riser that has been active hitting camps and making some noise this summer. Vista has a new staff so it will be interesting to see how he will be used in the new system. He is a backer that is good at stripping the ball out of ball carriers hands. He has the ability to drop back in coverage and has the hands to come down with INTs. Swift will be a player with a lot of upside and will be on the radar this season.

Swift was the MVP for LBs and he was able dominate in one on one and during 3 vs 2. In drill work he was able to be smooth throughout, taking the coaching and showing his explosiveness. When going against the RBs he didn’t get beat often being able to take good angles and not fall for the head fakes. During 3 vs 2 he was causing havoc in coverage and making it difficult on receivers to get going.

Swift is a young player that shows some range and great instincts. Swift is a backer that can cover the TE or RB, showing good hands being able to come up with interceptions and swing the momentum for his team. He uses his hands well on the defensive side of the ball as well and is good at shedding blocks, stopping the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage. Swift has good vision and uses that vision to read his keys; exploding out of his stance to come downhill and make a play. Swift was in the transfer protocol and had to play JV but he is a player that I expect to be thrust into a big role for the Bison and should get a lot of opportunities to showcase his talent.
