Garinger struggled in 2024, but Whitmire looks like he has a bright future ahead of him. He doesn’t have a ton of film, but he’s proven to be a solid tackler and a nuisance in the backfield. He’s a strong kid who looks like he’s only going to get bigger and stronger as his career progresses.

I know the narrative is that Garinger is the worst program in the state, however when I saw them play this past season, there were several players that stood out to me – most of them on defense, and they were seniors. However, DeMarco really flashed as a potential run-stopping defensive tackle. There is a specific highlight where DeMarco immediately sheds a double-team attempt, gets into the backfield, and makes a big solo tackle for loss in the red zone. And when going back to look at the film from that game, their opponent did not run the ball well at all, and DeMarco is a big reason why that happened. Now, DeMarco has to work hard in the weight room and get stronger, but his quickness and hand usage off the ball are traits that will give him a chance to build on some success in Year 1.
