Matheson has great frame and size for a defensive back. He has exceptional ball skills and displays good movement patterns. Matheson is a physical defender and not afraid to get his nose dirty. He has good hips and stick to be a cover corner and has the closing speed and range to be a safety, that duality will help him out at the next level.

Matheson is an athletic cover corner with good length and size to grow into. He displays good coverage skills and sticks to a receivers hip with active hands. Matheson is a willing tackler and has good range. He’s an oppurtunist and with the ball in the air will make a play on the ball and his ball-skills make him a high ceiling cover corner in the state that will get looked at regionally, with bigger upside in reruiting.
