Kirkland was impressive beginning with the agility and combine drills. During the L-Drill, he showed excellent burst and the ability to plant and turn quickly. His footwork was clean and he moved fluidly through the cone and bag drills. Nicknamed “D-Train”, Kirkland used his extended arm length during the passing one one session to derail several passes. He plays with excellent leverage, he displays great body control and gets to his top speed quickly. At 5-foot-10 and 150-pounds, Kirkland is a plug and play athlete, who could line up at outside linebacker and play the passing lanes because of his speed. Look for him to make headlines under Friday night lights in the near future.
