David Anderson
About David Anderson
Expert Analysis
Ed OBrien | Prep Redzone Scout
Anderson plays the position with confidence and poise. He’s comfortable operating out of the shotgun, processes quickly in spread concepts, and shows a good feel for structure within the offense. When plays extend or move off schedule, he keeps his eyes downfield and does a nice job delivering accurate, catchable throws on the move.
His touch really stands out in his highlights, especially on vertical routes. Anderson does a good job dropping the ball in stride when receivers break free and shows strong timing on corner routes and delayed concepts. He stays patient and lets things develop. Anderson throws with anticipation and trusts his receivers to be where they’re supposed to be.
The next step for Anderson is tightening up his footwork. At times, slow drops or late setups lead to underthrows. Cleaning up his base and speeding up his setup will help his timing, velocity, and overall consistency. particularly on deep balls. Overall, Anderson is a solid pocket passer with good touch and awareness.

David Anderson showed command of the passing game this season, delivering touchdowns at every level of the field. Whether working the quick game or pushing the ball vertically, Anderson consistently put the football exactly where it needed to be for his receivers to make plays.
His ball placement stands out on film. Anderson does a good job of throwing receivers open, placing passes away from coverage and just out of reach of defenders in contested situations. That combination of touch, timing, and confidence allows his playmakers to win after the catch and makes him a reliable quarterback in both high-percentage throws and shot plays downfield.

David is a player I can’t wait to see more of as he may not be a name everyone knows now but he has a strong skill set that won’t coaches won’t be able to deny going forward.
With a live arm, able to throw off platform and from multiple angles, David can hurt defenses in multiple ways. He gets the ball out quick and to his playmakers. David has the arm strength to get the ball over the top and gets nice velocity on his short passes. A capable scrambler as well, he can move the pocket with his legs and run for chunks of yardage. As David continues to improve his arm strength and gain reps/experience he will be a top QB in the DCSAA.
