Linebacker MVP: Dallas Johnson

Dallas Johnson earned Linebacker MVP honors after backing up his impressive film with an outstanding performance at the 910 Classic. The rising senior from Grovetown, Georgia, measured in at 6-foot and 210 pounds and displayed the complete skill set coaches look for at the position. Johnson was one of the most consistent defenders throughout the camp, excelling in every phase of competition. He particularly stood out during one-on-one drills, where he repeatedly won matchups against running backs and tight ends, showcasing his athleticism, instincts, and coverage ability. Johnson’s combination of physicality, movement skills, and football IQ made him one of the top defensive performers in attendance and a well-deserved Linebacker MVP.

One of the top young defenders in the Augusta area, this fast-rising linebacker in the 2027 class was an absolute football magnet this past season. He shows great instincts against the run, closes quickly, and knows how to wrap up properly and make a fundamental tackle on the ball-carrier. This playmaking defender made an eye-opening, team-leading 114 tackles last season to go along with 14 TFLs. He flashed easy D1 potential and could easily see some offers come his way down the road. He lit up the stat sheet and will see a new ranking this month when the next 2027 Prep Redzone rankings are released.

Stout, explosive LB prospect who is well-developed for his age. Rocked-up frame that holds his own against blockers and is truck-proof in running lanes. Johnson is best as a run-and-chase defender, where he can play off-script and quickly rally to the football. If he doesn’t make tackles, he can cut off angles and redirect the play back toward another tackler. Johnson is a strong tackler who wraps and wrestles ball carriers to the turf. He is more explosive than most 2027 RBs and could be due some serious recruiting buzz this offseason.

Johnson is a 6’0 205 LB prospect with a big upside for the Grovetown Warriors. He is explosive off the snap and has a good football IQ, recognizing where the play is going quickly. He has added some good weight over the last year and looks really well put together on film.

Johnson leads the Warriors in total tackles with 63 with 10 of those being tackles for loss. Johnson was a player that made our Watch List during the Fall and should pop into our latest rankings this Spring after a productive sophomore season.
