About Corey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my game play style as physical and fearless. I can create space and I am an elusive route runner. I am also good at catching the ball in traffic. When running the ball, I am a good decision maker and I run through contact. Finally, when blocking, I don't care if someone is bigger or stronger than I am. I am physical and not scared to get my nose in the D-line.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to never let my team, family, coaches, and myself down on the field. I fight for my team and if we are up by 50 or down by 50 I have the same intensity and effort and I will leave it all on the field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a part of Blue Crew, which is a club for athletes at Brookfield Central that involves unity and commitment. I am apart of FCA, which is a similar club for Christian Athletes. Also, I was nominated to be apart of the Wisconsin Leadership Academy.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed skills such as inclusion, good at taking coaching and good leadership. I am especially good at collaborating with my teammates to make each other better everyday. I also help young players with plays, technique, and other aspects of the task on the field.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A challenge I have faced was when I broke my collar bone. It was the last JV game of the season and I was having a good game and felt great about the varsity game the next day. I was running the ball down the field and a defender jumped on my neck and my shoulder broke on the ground. I could not play in the game the next day or the playoff game the following week.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with a supportive environment, extracurricular opportunities, and career preparation. For sports, an electrifying environment, great team spirit, and good health and wellness focus.

Corey is a unique talent for Brookfield Central. As the wing back in their offense we see Corey utilized as a receiving and running threat. The ’27 ATH is at his best when he can lean on his quick burst, acceleration, and agility. He is able to create space and get open quickly, making him a tough matchup to try and contain. The 5’10” 165 lbs athlete is a selfless player too. Willing to throw his body around, make key blocks to spring his teammates open on the outside as he hooks the edge defender. The tape also shows that Corey will line up out wide and can get off the line quickly and get open early in the play. Plus he has reliable hands that catch the ball away from his body. Corey is a chess piece for his offense and can deliver on a lot of different responsibilities.
