Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
Davenport is a prolific dual-sport athlete, and a recent offer from Samford got some buzz started here. Davenport is a smaller corner projection, but he is very difficult to separate against and can win in different coverages and leverages. He is smooth and patient in coverage, allowing him to consistently be around the top of routes. From there, he uses his short-area burst and ball tracking skills to close space and attack the ball, both when carrying routes and when coming downhill. Samford shouldn’t be the last D1 offer here.

Read EvaluationMatt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A natural defender in coverage who locates the football and can make a play on it, Davenport covers a lot of ground quickly and is fresh off an impressive sophomore season where he was reliable against the pass. He shows quick feet, above-average athleticism, and should be even better as a junior next fall after breaking up five passes in 2025. He’s an Atlanta-area defensive back on the rise in the 2028 class who could be an All-Region candidate next season. Don’t be surprised if his stock continues to rise more and more over the spring.
