Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Navarro served as a bright spot during an otherwise difficult season for Postville. The junior caught 27 passes, by far the most on the team, for 285 yards. He recorded a team-high 29.9 tackles, 23 of which were solo stops. Navarro also came up with the squad’s lone interception. He averaged 16.9 yards on 17 kick returns. We can witness how he gets the job done during his 11th-grade highlight video. On it, there’s a versatile two-way player standing out for excellent ball skills. Navarro competes hard for catches, high points the ball and uses his body well on contested throws. He gets in and out of his breaks quickly on crisp routes. The skills that help him make defenders miss in space also work in the return game. While that could be a path to college football, there’s also intriguing upside as a long-armed corner capable of sticking in coverage and crashing down against the run. Hip movements and change of direction are smooth.
