McKinney is developing into one of the more intriguing players and defensive backs in Kentucky’s Class of 2031. A two-time Kentucky Future Stars selection, McKinney brings a strong 5’8″ frame along with valuable versatility as a quarterback, defensive back, and safety. One thing that stands out is how his experience under center translates to the defensive side of the ball. He shows a natural understanding of route concepts, quarterback tendencies, and where the football is likely to go before the play fully develops. With experience on both sides of the football and continued growth as an athlete, McKinney has all the tools to be a major contributor for Kentucky Future Stars once again, and expectations should be high for what this young man can accomplish moving forward.
