Jones is a future tight end, but he does it all for Mountain Heritage, including returning kicks, running the ball and making plenty of tackles on defense. He’s a perfect fit as an H-Back in Elon’s unique offensive system and that is a big reason why we moved him in the rankings. If there’s a team that can maximize Jones’ potential, it’s the Phoenix.

The recent Elon commit can really run, and that’s the first thing that stands out on film. How many 6’2.5,” 205-pound tight ends are running back multiple kickoffs and punts for touchdowns, or taking Wing T handoffs for massive gains. He’s more of an H-Back/deployable chess piece than a traditional in-line tight end, but his speed, vision, hands, and power will all serve him well as he adjusts to the college game.

A multi-sport and two-way player, Jones is also a solid baseball and basketball player and standout linebacker. We like him most at tight end, partially because colleges struggle to recruit that position. Jones has great speed and elite strength, an athletic rarity at the high school level. He plays… everywhere, returning kicks and punts, playing receiver, H-Back, slot back, and tight end. Already a hidden gem, he could find himself with FBS offers by the end of the process if he can add some weight and refine some blocking and route-running technique.
