Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Perry is one of the top signal callers in all of Idaho and is a very efficient passer with a strong build and natural throwing mechanics in the pocket. This Fall, he passed for over 2,300 yards and 22 touchdowns, while adding another 200 yards rushing with 7 scores and still has two years left in his prep career. He is a very well put together prospect with the ideal size and frame for a pocket passer at the next level. He shows a quick release and solid throwing mechanics while doing a good job of scanning the field and moving through his progressions quickly. He throws his receivers open downfield and puts good spin on the ball and touch over the top. He is seemingly comfortable throwing both in-breaking and out breaking routes and can also throw on the run without losing throw power.

Perry is having a monster sophomore year where he is leading the state in passing for all classifications. With 1986 yards through the air, Perry is putting the state on notice that he can absolutely spin the football. Perry is able to do a little bit of everything where he can hurt teams with his legs or his arm, but he shines throwing the football down the field with great touch. He is a player to watch in the years to come.

Perry entered into our ranks for the first time in the latest release, and is one of the top passers across the state of Idaho and has been off to an excellent start to his Sophomore campaign for Preston. He has a strong arm downfield, can throw his receivers open and shows touch in tight windows over the top while not afraid to zip it into traffic. He also shows strong pocket awareness and knows how to avoid pressure while keeping his eyes downfield but is also not afraid to tuck it and run with some under-rated speed in the open field. He had a big week in 7, throwing for nearly 250 yards and 3 scores against Century.

Perry is another big time signal caller in this loaded 2027 quarterback room across Idaho. The Sophomore is a very athletic passer that excels at throwing on the run, buying time with his feet and puts good zip on the ball at all three levels in the pocket. On tape, Perry also shows he has a snappy release and gets the ball out quick and on time, while not afraid to take what is given and can fit the ball into tight windows at all three levels of the defense, while showing pocket awareness and is tough to bring down in one on one situations. Through the midpoint of this season, he is one of the states top passing leaders and should really start to see his recruitment pickup this off-season.

Perry is only in his second season at the prep level, but has shown tremendous poise for a sophomore quarterback and has solid throwing mechanics and pocket awareness, especially for his age. So far this season he has thrown for 1,200 yards and 11 scores, while completing 60% of his passes and showing he can really spread the ball around and also can do some damage with his legs in the open field and when scrambling around the pocket as well. Look for Perry to be one of the top returning signal callers this off-season, and continue to improve and develop into one of the regions top passers over the next couple seasons.
