Expert Analysis
Nate Wahl | Prep Redzone Scout
-Carter boosts some of the best hands you will see in South Dakota 9-man football, as one that is still uncommitted in this 2026 class.
-Boosts the consistent ability to make difficult catches in high-traffic areas and shows off a lot of natural athleticism doing so.
-Longer catch radius than his measurables might show off and is a sound route-runner that could be a great slot receiver at the next-level
-A 9-man wide receiver that I felt really raised his stock playing 7v7 last Spring and that will reflect in our rankings update at the end of the season.

Carter I have logged as a riser in this 2026 class, not only from his growth on tape in his junior season but I love the grind this young man has created gettng 7v7 reps with the SF Sharks. He has shown off smoother hands and a football IQ that shows advancement in the open field with an faster intuition than what I have grasped in the live evals I have gotten from past years. As a route-runner, I also have seen Carter get more fluidity with his routes especially on his cuts with his change of direction. He surely looks like a scholarship-level talent in these eyes coming out Gayville-Volin.

Stat Line: 7 receptions, 143 total yards (115 receiving, 28 rushing) three total touchdowns
Carter is a Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase alum that had an impressive Week 0 with nearly 150 total yards for Gayville-Volin, and has certainly shown off balanced route-running within intermediate routes from what he showed off on tape. Although he’s not the biggest wide receiver on the face of the earth, he shows off a 2026 prospect that has plenty of upside to engage the defense to know where he is lining up his versatility is already being used early within the 2023 season. I also like Carter’s awareness of knowing where the first down markers are as he uses his short-field agility with good vision. I expect Carter to be a climber in the 2026 rankings with a solid start to his sophomore season. Twitter
