About Cameron
Expert Analysis
Alex Pallone | Prep Redzone Scout
Cameron is a high-upside defensive tackle playing in the OAA Gold. Last season was a resurgence for Avondale, and it was also a breakout year for Cameron. He was an immoveable object last season and a nightmare to run against. Few, if any, O-Linemen in the OAA Blue can move Cameron. Although he’s a great inside run-stuffer, Cameron lacks the explosiveness and motor needed to be a great DT prospect. Yes, he’s physical. Yes, he hits hard. But his athletic traits are severely holding him back. This is a player who could SHOOT up the rankings with one phenomenal offseason. I’m not sure if he’s had that phenomenal offseason, but if he did, he’d be a completely different football player.

Cameron has earned a jump from the Watch List to the Rankings. On July 1, he will be ranked, and I strongly believe he could be an end-season stock riser. He’s a mix between
Robert Mills

and
Ja’Mari Taylor

. Like Robert, Cameron has moments where he fires off the ball well and meets a ball carrier in the backfield. Like Ja’Mari, he has the strength to outmuscle just about every lineman he’ll face. Similar to both of them, Cameron tends to slow down as the game rolls on. With a bit more athleticism and conditioning, Cameron could be a game-wrecker in the OAA Gold.
