An unranked 2028 junior out of Bermudian Springs High School who is long overdue for representation within our Pennsylvania rankings. Currently listed at 5’10, 202 pounds with a self-reported 4.0 GPA, he is a versatile athlete capable of contributing at several different positions for his program. He has already collected multiple weekly and monthly accolades throughout the season, and his production has clearly begun attracting attention from local college programs. He has been developing relationships with Division III schools, including Wilkes University, and was invited to attend a Lebanon Valley College football game this coming weekend. He can also kick the football and contribute on special teams, adding another element to his overall recruiting profile. One thing I particularly appreciate is how consistently he has been sharing his film on Twitter. He does an excellent job making sure college coaches understand what type of player he is, what he is accomplishing each week and how he continues to develop. That proactive approach is exactly what I want to see from an underclassman working to establish himself within the recruiting landscape.
He recently uploaded a seven minute junior season highlight reel featuring his best linebacker reps, giving us a substantial collection of footage to evaluate. His opening highlight immediately demonstrates why I believe he deserves to be ranked. Aligned at inside linebacker against an offense operating from 11 personnel, he recognizes the developing rushing concept without taking a false step. His initial movement is excellent, and he does a tremendous job reading the offensive flow before committing to his pursuit angle. Rather than getting caught behind the offensive line or allowing blockers to reach him at the second level, he anticipates where the football is going, beats the blockers to the spot and closes on a running back attempting to work off tackle. He forces the ball carrier to bounce outside, continues pursuing and finishes with a solo tackle for loss. That is an outstanding opening rep, particularly because of how much recognition, anticipation and discipline are involved before he ever makes contact.
His ability to read and react might be the most impressive part of his game. I would go as far as saying he possesses some of the best anticipation and initial recognition skills I’ve seen from a linebacker in his immediate class and district. He understands offensive flow, identifies developing rushing lanes and consistently positions himself to make plays before blockers can establish leverage. He is comfortable aligning throughout the interior of the defense, particularly between the B gaps, and provides a physical presence in the middle of the field. What I appreciate most is that he doesn’t need to deliver a perfect full body collision to bring down a ball carrier. He has the strength, balance and tackling instincts to finish plays even when he doesn’t have an ideal angle or opportunity to square up completely. That is an extremely valuable quality for an inside linebacker, especially one who is frequently responsible for making tackles in congested areas.
His pursuit skills are equally encouraging. In one on one situations, he consistently demonstrates the ability to close ground, adjust his angle and finish without requiring additional defensive assistance. He is a dependable solo tackler who plays with excellent confidence and doesn’t hesitate when an opportunity presents itself. His film also showcases his willingness to attack gaps aggressively, particularly when he identifies an opening in the offensive blocking scheme. He sees rushing lanes exceptionally well from the defensive side of the football and has the confidence to shoot those gaps before the offense can establish its intended point of attack. There is a physical, tone setting quality to his game, and he is capable of delivering significant contact when he arrives at the ball carrier. He isn’t simply accumulating tackles because of his position within the defense. He is actively creating opportunities to disrupt plays through recognition, anticipation and aggressive pursuit.
Another encouraging aspect of his tape is that he isn’t limited exclusively to playing downhill against the run. Later reps show him handling zone coverage responsibilities, demonstrating that he can operate in space and contribute beyond the tackle box. I want to continue evaluating his coverage range and movement ability against more demanding passing concepts, but it is encouraging to see him being asked to handle those assignments. He also looks like a very capable runner with the football, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he could develop into an effective running back given his combination of size, vision, physicality and ability to navigate traffic. His versatility across multiple positions, along with his special teams contributions, gives college programs several different ways to potentially utilize him. However, based on this particular evaluation, I believe his strongest projection is clearly at linebacker.
From a recruiting standpoint, I would love to see him attend one of our camps or another verified testing event so we can establish a better understanding of his athletic ceiling. His film already demonstrates excellent instincts, toughness and football intelligence, but verified speed, agility and explosiveness numbers would help determine how his physical tools compare with other linebackers in the 2028 class. At 5’10, 202 pounds, he has a strong, compact build for an interior defender, and I want to see how effectively his movement skills translate when evaluated in a controlled setting. His academic profile is another significant positive, particularly for the Division III programs already beginning to establish relationships with him. A reported 4.0 GPA, consistent production and the ability to contribute in multiple phases of the game make him an attractive prospect for programs looking for dependable, well-rounded football players.
Overall, I am extremely impressed with what I’ve seen and believe he has an opportunity to enter our Pennsylvania 2028 linebacker rankings in a strong position. His ability to diagnose offensive concepts, anticipate rushing lanes, defeat blockers to the point of attack and consistently finish solo tackles separates him from many of the linebackers I’ve evaluated in his immediate area. He is a confident gap shooter, a physical tone setter and a reliable presence in the middle of the defense who can also contribute in coverage and on special teams. I appreciate the work he has already put into promoting himself and developing relationships with local college programs, and I strongly encourage him to continue that approach. This is a talented, recruitable junior who should have been represented on our site sooner, and I’m excited to get him ranked while continuing to monitor his development and collegiate opportunities.
