Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
One of the top sleeper wide receivers west of Atlanta in the 2028 class, Niehr is a shifty, impressive pass-catcher who can be really tough to stop after the catch. He shows quick feet, impressive change of direction, and enough speed to score anytime he’s in the open field. The Dallas, Georgia native brings strong hands and can really challenge defensive backs vertically at 5-foot-11 175-pounds. He’s fresh off a really strong sophomore season for North Paulding where he caught 22 passes for 347 yards and four touchdowns. He’ll be an easy addition to the next 2028 Prep Redzone rankings and has a chance to light up the stat sheet as a junior in 2026.

Niehr’s combination of speed and route-running fundamentals is impressive. His get off is explosive, immediately stepping on DB’s toes and stressing them vertically. He understands how to stem his routes to exploit their leverage to beat them to his landmark. The entire route tree is in play with him on the perimeter, as his speed and sure hands make him a reliable target anywhere on the field. Not only is he a downfield threat, but he can also create explosive plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. He has a sudden twitch that helps him to make defenders miss in space.
