An unranked prospect and a completely new addition to our database and website, currently listed at 6’1, 190 pounds. He identifies as an outside linebacker and wide receiver, giving him some positional versatility that I’m interested in exploring further. Looking back, I probably should have discovered him sooner, considering he uploaded a sophomore season highlight reel last fall. That tape only featured approximately one minute of production, but it was enough to suggest he deserved a place on our radar. Now that he is an upperclassman, I’m particularly interested in understanding how much his game has developed and whether he has taken on a larger role within his program.
He has only posted twice on Twitter this season, sharing footage from two individual games. Interestingly, one of those games required him to step in at quarterback, which says something about his athletic ability and willingness to do whatever his team needs to win. I appreciate seeing a player embrace that responsibility, especially when quarterback isn’t one of his primary listed positions. His Hudl currently features just three single game cutups, so there is some recent production available, but not nearly enough for me to conduct a complete evaluation. I would like to get a better understanding of his defensive responsibilities, how effectively he operates at outside linebacker and whether his receiving ability has continued developing since his sophomore season.
The biggest question for me is how much his role has expanded over the past year. I would imagine he has become a more significant contributor now that he is an upperclassman, but I don’t have enough film to confidently support that assumption. I would love to see him assemble a first three games compilation, a midseason highlight reel or any substantial collection of his best reps from this fall. That would allow me to evaluate his athletic traits, physicality, positional instincts and overall production across multiple games rather than relying on a few isolated clips. He has also posted some encouraging weightlifting footage on Twitter, which caught my attention and suggests he is putting work into his physical development. However, I still need to see how that strength translates to the football field before assigning him a meaningful grade.
For now, I’ll be adding him to our watch list while continuing to monitor his development. There are some interesting qualities here, particularly his 6’1, 190 pound frame, experience at multiple positions and willingness to step in at quarterback when needed. I don’t want to rush into an official ranking without having enough film to understand what kind of prospect he is, but I certainly believe he deserves further attention. Hopefully, he puts together a more complete highlight reel in the near future so I can properly evaluate his junior season and determine whether he belongs in our rankings. I’m excited to learn more about him as additional footage becomes available.
