Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
Mitchell is a shockingly underrated player out of Luella who plays on both sides of the ball, but will project out on the defensive front. He is a tall, lean, long player with the room to add weight and easily hold above 280, if his 265 listing is accurate. Regardless, his combination of short-area quickness and speed is extremely impressive for his size. On offense, when he gets out to run, he keeps up with and often outruns skill players down the field. Added play strength will improve his game at the point, but he uses his hands to stab, swipe, and rip his way through traffic. His combination of size, speed, and upside physically leads me to believe there is booming potential here. P4 schools need to pay attention.

A playmaking defensive lineman flying under the radar south of Atlanta, Mitchell is a stout run defender who fires off the ball and can close running lanes in the trenches. He’s physically gifted at 6-foot-4 265-pounds and showed above average quickness for someone with his frame. He didn’t light up the stat sheet, but when you tune the film on, it’s easy to see his natural size and talent. He’s one of the top returning defensive linemen in the region and is likely bound for a giant final season in 2026. He can absolutely play at the next level and will be added to the next 2027 Prep Redzone rankings. Mitchell made 28 tackles, three TFLs and three sacks.
