The Gamecock commit was the leading receiver for the Bulldogs in this game, however it was hard for Brian to break loose for his noteworthy big plays due to the speed and attention the Panthers defense kept on him all night long. Brian didn’t get to be a factor in the kick return game either, as the Panthers never kicked the ball to him directly.

The electrifying South Carolina commit caught 4 passes in the game, showing some soft hands and smooth route running on those plays. Brian willfully did his share of blocking well for his teammates on the perimeter of the defense, showing his unselfish personality in putting the team before himself. Brian also was the primary punt returner for the Bulldogs, providing some speed and athleticism into space on those plays.

I always start each one of Rowe’s evaluations with the fact that he can absolutely jump out of the stadium. Despite not having elite size, Rowe is one of the best jump ball receivers in the state and JM Robinson’s coaches aren’t afraid to call 50-50 balls. Rowe is shifty and has really displayed some nice moves after the catch as a senior.

It was probably pure oversight on our part to not have Rowe in the rankings immediately following last season, but we’ve tried to make amends as the South Carolina commit jumps all the way to No. 13 overall. He has a unique blend of size, speed and lateral agility as he excels both at the catch point and after the catch. He’s an elite special teams threat with three punt return touchdowns a season ago and his leaping ability might be unmatched, but he needs to put on some more weight before he’s ready to take on college defenders.
