Bret Buecher, who is both a RB and WR, is used on sweeps and long runs designed to get him out in space, but he is also a tough runner between the tackles who finishes forward on contact and knows how to hit the hole with good balance and burst. He also plays a role on special teams as a returner on kickoffs. Recorded 1,700 all-purpose yards last season and was the leading sophomore rushing leader in the state.

Buecher has had a good year 2, where he’s not only broken out, but proven to be a workhorse they can feed. He’s got good vision through the hole and has a good feel for how to read blocks in development. I like his acceleration and ability to stop and start. He rushed for 1351 yards and 12 TDs while adding another 28 catches for 149 yards and 1 more TD. His versatility out of the backfield is something I think they can build on moving forward as well.
