Thueson is a true thumper and one of the hardest hitters Idaho has to offer at the middle linebacker position. He is a every down guy that can make plays outside the tackles as well, and is seemingly always around the ball. He shows a quick play diagnosis, takes proper angles in the open field and is a sure tackler in space while showing he can get off blocks inside, knife into the backfield and has a nose for the ball. In coverage, he can get into the flats and cover downfield, while a very high IQ player in zone coverage. He also shows good COD for his size and scrapes well over the top while bringing a nice pop on contact. At the next level, he should find his home at middle linebacker due to his frame/athletic build and is a no brainer D3+ level kid in college.

Thueson is not new to our rankings this time around, and moves into the number two spot overall while a top 3 player at his position across Idaho. He is a true plug in the middle of the Columbia defense, and can play either mike backer or go down and put his hands in the dirt and apply pressure from the edge and has interior twitch as well. He is an explosive player in the short area, shows violent hands at the POA when getting off blocks and moves well for his size when redirecting. The Sophomore defender is truly an active pass rusher from either of the first two levels of the defense and as he grows and progresses, could find himself at the defensive line in college.

Thueson is the top defensive player in his class so far across Idaho, and could easily slide into our number one spot in our overall initial rankings release too. He is already a very good sized kid with a strong build, power lower body and is very explosive in the short area against the run and when coming downhill. Operating from the inside linebacker position, he scrapes over the top with a low hat, shows he is a true plug in the middle and can take on blockers and explodes through contact with violence while able to add a pass rush up the middle as well. He plays well above his age, and should only continue to grow and develop as he progresses through high school and will only improve upon his fluidity and movement abilities in space. Look for Thueson to make a case for that number one spot in our rankings in the next couple updates.
