Brenden has some insane physical tools. Plus, he’s extremely competitive.
When Brenden is on his game, he’s a massive difference maker. He can defend the outside run, tackle, and play zone coverage. Brenden even showed good flashes playing man coverage.
With another offseason under Brenden’s belt, he can go from a great player on Niles to a bona fide star. Just a little improvement in change of direction and speed would give him the edge when he’s deep in the playoffs going against other great talent.

Immediately upon warm-ups of the D4 title game, Brenden stood out. A true 6’6 with lanky limbs will always put you on a scouts radar. What took him to the next level for me was the fact that he didn’t move awkwardly. He showed solid agility and extremely high effort. He was the team leader in interceptions and watching his highlights it’s clear to see why. He reads the play quickly and is able to high point the ball with ease. If he continues to work in the weight room, he could project extremely well as a pass catching TE that can line up all over the field at the next level.

I watched Brenden twice this season- in the state semifinals and the State Championship.
I like his size and I also like his leadership. He’s a true 6’6″ with long limbs. Also, Brenden is very level-headed and does a great job at encouraging teammates and keeping the morale high. However, Brenden has many skill limitations that he’ll need to correct before he reaches his ceiling. First, Brenden needs to work on his all-around athleticism. I frankly don’t like his change of direction or explosiveness. Also, I’d love to see Brenden play with better physicality. There were times, especially in the state championship, where Brenden was outmatched by a more physical and fundamentally sound player.
I’m still going to rank Brenden as a high Division 3 prospect. He seems like a very good player, a good teammate, and he has high upside. Excited to see where Brenden ends up playing his college ball!
